Would not attempt it. I once brought a plane with me to D.C on US Air. Once they found out what was in the box, they made me sign a waiver saying they were not responsible for fragile items such as RC Models. It was an RCM Trainer, and there was no damage, but I think I got lucky.
I would not even carry it on.. Not worth it.. Those baggage handlers could care less.

Well I will pack it very well ( bubble wrapping). My only concern is the engine. Do they allow engine planes to be taken? I've taken my electrics lots of time but not glow. I only plan to take the plane, radio, glow starter and that is it.

My RCM Trainer had the engine already installed, and they never asked, so I didn't tell. However, the shaft poked through the cardboard box (it was attached to the firewall) beacuse of their rough handeling.

Best bet is to send it out via ground shipping before you leave and have it timed to reach you when you arrive at your destination.
Good luck,
