Hangar 9 CAP 232 80"
Just ordered a Hangar 9 CAP 232 27% ARF...the one with the Alitalia scheme. Any words of wisdom on completing the ARF, hardware choices, servos, setup, flying, options, etc?
I plan on a BME 50 up front.

I have the same plane and engine combo.
The only real recommendation I have is to beef up the landing gear area. I hadn't read anything that said it was necessary on this model, but I ripped my gear out and put the wheelpants right clean up through the wing on both sides on the second landing. Admittedly, it wasn't the prettiest landing, but I didn't think it was bad enough to have ripped the gear out.

Beef up the firewall also, cause some of them have left the airplane early on.
I plan to use 3.5 in wheels instead of 3in also.
I am also planning on using the BME 50 for an engine.
I'm planning to use HiTec 645MG servos, with a Futaba Radio.
RC Modeler did a review on this plane in July of this year , that would probably
give you some ideas also.
Good Luck,
HLC

Have 20 trouble free flights on mine with a Moki 2.1. Didn't think firewall needed beefing up for that engine seeing as they've already pinned it in place for you w/ 1/8" dowels. Maybe w/ a 50cc gasser that would be diffrent, I don't know. Built the plane bone stock (a first for me) and it's holding up fine. The plane was so admired at my field that two other guys ordered one!
Using futaba S9304 coreless all around except on rudder where I have a Futaba giant scale 120 oz servo (can't remember the type number). Lightweight 1000 mah NIMH battery still has 500 mah left after 5 flights.
All-in weight at 15 lbs, so the plane just FLOATS on in during landing. You're going to love this plane.

I thingk firewall was ptetty good my buddy has aZDZ-60 way to much but no stress trouble yet.
I have mine withZDZ-40 and thats ulimited on the rear type carbs I made a good tool to choak it without cutting hole all ovrer.
Unless they from down the bayou they should not over power these planes.
The ZDZ-04is plenty power[img][/img]
