hi everyone i am in the process of getting a u can do 3d .61
i have a 9c radio and a 127df 7ch rx.
how would i set up the extension for the ailerons and elevator??
i know i need one 24" extension for the rudder but i am unsure of what to buy for extensions for the other ones. i was going to use a y-harness but someone told me i could not put any mixes in the ailerons like flaperons and stuff like that.
any help with the setup would be greatly appreciated.

I presume you have a 9ch computer radio...


Link up each aileron to a seperate channel and have the radio mix these two channels so that when one operates, the other operates to the same degree. This will mean that you can also mis it so that both ailerons will come down to act as flaps.

i have 60 size u can do 3d i used hitec hs475hb deluxe all over except the rudder and i used a hs 605bb super tourque will this be ok? i am also running a 91 4 stroke with a 12-6 prop will this work? oh yea a servo reverser is being used too

Use a 14x6 on your 91 four stroke. Standards work well on all but the rudder.

On mine I had a 24" extension for each elevator and rudder servo, and used twin elevator servo mixing on my 9C. Each aileron servo had a 6" extension, with a 6" extension plugged into each aileron channel in the receiver. I used the flaperon mixing on the 9C. Hope this helps.

Rather than using mixing for your dual elevator servos, use the Futaba's Ailevator function and set the airlons to 0%.

I have Hitec HS-605s all around except the throttle. For this airplane it might be a little overkill but given the nature of this airplane I think not.

That's what I used at first, but then I changed it to a pmix. Why? With the ailevator mix, you are mixing channels 2 and 8. If you move the elevators back and forth, you notice a delay between the reaction of the two servos. I decided to reduce that delay, so I created a pmix 2-5 set at 100% in each direction with the TRIM function on. I also went to the aux channel page and made channel 5 "NULL" so no knob or switch would throw the second elevator servo out of alignment. With the new 2 - 5 mixing, the delay was substantially decreased. I have since done this mixing with my IMAC planes. It does eat up one pmix but the synchronization between the servos is worth it to me.

Definitely use the p-mix. The elevator surfaces are *large* on this plane - any out-of-sync motion at high rates is definitely noticeable.

Its also a good idea to twist the servo leads - especially the three running to the tail. I noticed a little jittering in mine during the initial range tests; this cleared up after I twisted the leads.

Really fast servos are a good idea. I'm using old-version FMA coreless servos on all surfaces... 100+ oz-in of torque and 0.12 transit times, and beat the Hell out of them



(doing a couple of KE -> KE snaps in a row with 3D rates on will do this.)
