Engine points right on my new ARF. Need a hand.
I have an Ultra Stick 40 and my 46FX mounts at a 90 degree angle using a metal engine mount. The problem is that the engine is pointing to the right when I check it with a few big squares. There's no question that it is crooked. I tried moving the engine around in the mount but it's still off.
If I crank down on the left bolts that fasten the mount to the firewall will this aim it to the left more?
Also should it have any up or down thrust? Or just straight?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe

How much thrust to the right do you have?? I would think that this plane should have 1 or 2 degrees right thrust. My ultra stick ,60 had a bit.

All the Horizon Sticks have right thrust built into the firewall. If it's not there, then you will find that the motor mount sets the right thrust.
Most planes trim out better with a touch of right thrust. It helps overcome the left turning tendency (torque) of the engine when going from low to high throttle settings.
Don't worry about the right angle. Horizon did an excellent job in the design and manufacture of the Stick line. They fly very well and are quite forgiving for the newer pilot when the flight surfaces are set correctly and are flown at reasonable speeds.
