Hi, I am in desperate need of some information from the manual. I bought a used Kyosho Cap .40 size and got no manual with it. The original owner used a .32 size engine and I want to go bigger. I am using an OS 61FX and need information on how to mount this beast. If you have a manual and can get me a copy of the engine mounting section I would appreciate it. Also if you have mounted an engine that big on this plane please chime in…

hosam you will not have any problems flying this plane with a 60 in it and in fact will save you from haveing to add weight in the nose for balance. I had a T.S. 75 in mine and thought it was just about perfect. I don't have mine anymore, I traded it for a 1/4 scale cap and the manual of course went with it but I remember I had the motor mounted at an odd angle so the muffler would line up with the exit in the fuse.

Hi,
I also bought a used 232-40, but with an old OS 61 that works rather well. I have found some useful info:
http://www.kyosho.com/faq/service-faq.html
http://www.kyosho.com/techsupport/technotes.html
Good luck!

Thanks for the info Fredde, it helped...
Capt_Kc, I noticed that the previous owner had a 35 degree mark from the horizontal but you did 45 degrees. Was that by choice or per instructions?

I HAVE A KYOSHO CAP 232 40 SIZE WHICH I INSTALLED A THUNDER TIGER 61 INTO. WHILE I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THE THUNDER TIGER ENGINE, IT PULLS THE PLANE WITH AUTHORITY. VERTICAL IS TRULY UNLIMITED AND THE PLANE IS RATHER FAST. HOWEVER WITH PROPER THROTTLE MANAGEMENT AND PROPER PROP SELECTION, I DO NOT EXPECT TOO MUCH PROBLEMS WITH THIS COMBINATION.
THE PLANES FLIES LIKE IT IS ON RAILS AND WILL DO MORE MANEUVERS THAN I CAN.
I BALANCED THE PLANE AT 3 & 3/16 BEHIND THE FRONT OF THE LEADING EDGE. I HAD TO ADD SEVERAL OUNCES TO THE TAIL FOR PROPER BALANCE.
WATCH THE CONTROL THROWS, AS THESE ARE CRITICAL. I USED ABOUT 3/8 OF AN INCH ELEVATOR THROW BECAUSE THE PLANE HAS A TENDENCY TO SNAP OUT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE LOOP. RUDDER SHOULD BE NO MORE THAN 1 & 1/2 IN. I AM STILL TRYING TO FIND A HAPPY MEDIUM WITH THE AILERONS.
