Default Retracts

Hi everyone,

I bought a P51 hanger 9 ARF 150. I am having trouble with the retracts. I either can get them to open all the way but don't close all the way or the other way around. Is there some trick to get them to open and close all the way. Thanks for any help.

Mesure how far the actuator has to move to fully open and close them. Them use a large servo wheel and mesure half that distance from the center. Make two holes on either side of the wheel using that mesurement. Put your push rod for the left gear in the hole you made on the right side of the wheel and the same for the right. This should get you the correct throw to run the gear. David

I had the same exact problem with my H9 AT-6. Be sure you're using a retract servo. I wasn't and found out after someone here told me to check it.

Make sure the distance the retracts travel from lock to lock is the same as the distance between the two pushrod connectors on the servo arm since these two connectors travel from one side to the other. This diagram should help:

You can't beat mathematics. The two connectors on your servo arm are too close together. That's why you are not getting the full travel on the retracts. On the other hand, if the two connectors are too far apart, then the servo would be draining your battery while trying to push the retract actuator rods past their travel limit.
