Has anyone seen the new Rearwin Speedster ARF from Dymond RC? It has a 100" wing and would appear to be in the same general class as the H9 Taylorcrafdt except it is a little cheaper. Hate to be the first on the block to have one, but may have to try it anyway.

Default Great Model!

I started putting one together today. It is a fantastic kit. The workmanship is first class. It is bigger that the Taylorcraft. That is the other plan that I was contemplating. The structure is well made and very light.

You have to see the quality if the parts to believe it. The landing gear, cowl, and struts are very nice. It looks like it should be a very fast build. I do plan to do some modifications to accomodate the E conversion. Woudl you believe that I am going to electric power mine!

This will be a fun project.

Electric power on a plane like that should be an adventure. The website rates it for a G23 size engine. As big as the wing is it shouldn't be terribly overloaded by the batteries. Is the plane from Europe or the Far East? A lot of Dymond's stuff looks like it comes from Europe. I've been looking for a gasser, but I didn't want to get what everyone else is getting. The Speedster should be at least as aerobatic as the T-craft.

I bought mine directly from the owner of Dymond at Toledo. It is from the Far East and the wing loading will be light with whatever you put on it. It is huge wing and very thick so there should be plenty of lift.

I am going to power mine with the new MaxCim MegaMax. It is a 3.3 horsepower brusless electric motor. It will be turning on 36 cells. The motor is capable of turning up to a 32 inch prop. I plan to start with a 20x12.

I got it because I also was looking for something a little different and was very impressed with it when I saw it. It was across the isle from the Taylorcraft at Toledo and made the Taylorcraft look little. The pictures in the add do not do it justice as it is very pretty!
