Hey guys,
Today I had the maden flight(s) of my Tiger Bipe 40. Lets just say I am more than pleased. It has a new O.S. .48 Surpass 4-stroke with a TF 11X6 prop. After a tank of fuel, the engine had a purring idle and is very reliable. The instructions call for a TT .54 4-stroke, but this seems to be a perfect match. The O.S 48 also puts out as much hp as the TT 54.
All in all a great bargain and well built- all wood and no foam and I believe covered in Ultracoat. I know that people dislike the thin wire cabanes, but let me assure you that they do the job. I did several full power snaps with it with no problems. Its a very docile flyer and a real floater on landing. Makes nice scale 3 points landings all day. Inverted flight needs a little down elevator due to the double dihedral wings. Spins nicely both upright and inverted and easy to recover. Had a little trouble making it go flat however. Slow rolls are just a dream. Ran out of daylight or else I would probably have gone through 3/4 gallon of fuel ;-). I'm going to bring more for tomorrow flights!
I have done several modification to this ARF so if anybody is interested, please contact me directly. I can provide some pointers.
Happy Flying,
Tony

Pilot_Tony, glad you like the Bipe, I have the TT Giles(40) and it flies nice too with a TT46 pro. TT makes some excellent ARF's. Daz...
