I just finished my aviomodelli Tango 60"wing span, my first ARF plane, unfortunately it's very tail heavy, I should add about 4 oz in the nose to get a correct balance.
Now the problem is that the model is already quite heavy for the OS 40 La I mounted (6,3 lb) and there is no way I can lighten it up. OK ... 4oz is not that much but I would like to use that weight for something "useful", not just for plain ballast. Any ideas?
thank you
david

Hi David74,
Can you move the battery pack forward, under the fuel tank?
" " " " servos any farther forward?
" " " " engine " " " ?
Other than that, I guess you will have to add the weight?
Happy Flying OR a BIGGER ENGINE!

hi micsrcfn
I already moved the battery pack and I can't place the servos forward because there are pre-shaped slots in the fuse for them..I was just wondering how to use those 4 oz instead of lead for example lights, or a camera or a muffler silencer etc..
thank you

That little engine is not gonna make smoke so do yourself a favor and make a set of servo rails out of aircraft ply and move the servos forward. It's not hard and will take care of the balance problem quite nicely.

I'm not familiar with that particular plane but it would seem that an OS .40 LA is a bit small for a plane that weighs 6.3 lbs. A bigger engine will probably correct the CG also.
