I've heard that this plane will sometimes flutter the ailerons at high speeds. I'm worried that one day I'm going to "chicken" out of a maneuver and full throttle out while going down and the aileron will fall off. I'm doing some repair work to my cap after a bad landing and am also adding a smoke system... While I'm at it I'd like to strengthen the wing saddle and do whatever I can to the ailerons. Will sealing the hinge lines with clear tape and adding static counter balances do the trick?
I'd never heard of an elevator failure on this model, but what about adding flying wires? I'd use 40 LB test fishing line, will this cap benefit from flying wires?

It has an airfoil tail group and the stab is mounted about 6 inches in front of the vertical fin. I'd just use brass tubing to "fill in" the airfoil and make a sort of tunnel for the wire... I'd then use thick CA to hold the fishing wire with cleaves for the top. I'd use an aluminum tube for the bottom and just attach the stab to the fuse.
I would attach the aluminum tube with an eye bolt through a brass tube to the stab and use the top of the eye bolt to attach a clevis which the fishing line would attach to.

Use high quality servos. hardware, and seal the gaps. Mine is on the shelf awaiting repairs due to the aileron coming off at HIGH speed. I run a ST2500 (Perry HP carb) with a Mezjlik 18X8 at 8900rpm. Mine really moves out! I've already replaced the servos twice because I stripped the gears. All were 75 once torque servos as well.
