I finally got to fly my Giles yesterday and today. So far I only have one problem and it's with the elevator. Luckily on the first flight I let it climb up to about 300 feet before trying anything. I did a few rolls and knife edges and they were smooth, I had noticed that the elevator just didn't 'feel' right most of the time. I pulled back to go into a loop and about half way up it snapped over to the left quickly and leveled off, it was as though I had given aileron and rudder inputs, but I haddn't, only up elevator. So I tried again, same thing. Then I tried a higher speed turn and it did the same thing when I pulled back. This is about my 30th plane, I've been flying for 3 years, but this is my first balsa plane (all foamies and spads before this one) and my first plane with a split elevator. I notice that if I hold the two elevator control surface halfs and press in opposite directions that it will flex a good half inch. I noticed too while building it that they have a pre cut hole on the non control horned side of the elevator... so I am going to change the pushrod to a "Y" and put a control horn on the other side of the elevator. Will that help? Is that flex what is causing it to snap over like that or am I missing something else?

Thanks, I hadden't read the other thread, I had mine set at a little above the recommended 15mm each way in the manual. I now have them set at 10mm up and 13mm down. Hope it helps, thanks.
