Question about strengthening ARF with CA

I have two planes that have dowels in the leading edge of the wings used to fasten the wing to the fuse's front former. They screw into the fuse at the trailing edge of the wing.
My question is: Can I put thin CA on and around the holes in the former and also on the dowels to strengthen them? Has anyone tried this?
The planes are the Hanger 9 Ultra Stick and Magic Extra 300L.
Thanks,
Joe

I did that on my Hangar 9 Ultra Stick 60 and it did not help the dowel. I eventually (like after 5 flights) had to put a brass sleeve over the dowel. I recommend you do that from the start and save yourself the hassle later.

I bought some brass tubing at my local Hobby People. If you have one around you just take your wing in with you and find a piece that fits the most snug over the dowels. I used my dremel to cut to length and CA'd them to the wood dowels. Nothing much to it. Good luck!

I'm not sure where to mail order it, but you might try Home Depot or Lowes. Some of them have a selection of aluminum and brass tubing. Since the closest hobby shop for me is 65 miles away I use the hardware stores quite a bit if the supplies they have will fit the task. Parts are also usually cheaper than a hobby shop.
