Default DP Ultimate - How Do You Transport It??

Just finished my DP Ultimate and attempted to put it in the back of my Full Size/Short Bed pickup. It just fits with no room to spare for movement over bumps and such. With this set up, it won't be long before the wing tips are broke. It only fits in the bed on a 45 degree angle which puts the elevator to close also. What do you guys do to safely transport this one??

Thanks!

Bruce

What kind of truck do you have? I can put mine in sideways. I normally keep the fuselage on one side and put the wings up in the cab. I use a big bungee around the gear fastened to the bed tie downs to wrap around the gear and put the spinner up against the tailgate. no problems transporting this way for me

The truck is a Ford 250 SD with a 61/2 ft bed. The bed has a liner which I'm sure robs alittle space. The truck also has a retractable cover with the tracks mounted to the side rails of the bed. They of course protrude into the bed a few inches. Sounds like the stand is a possibility. Speed Freak- did you make up a stand? Can you give me a discription please? Smallfly- Sound like you remove the wings between outings? Do you remove them together as one or break them down completely?

Thanks Guys!

Under the hood lurks a YS 140 FZ with a Slimline Pitts muffler and the fuel tank mounted on the CG.

Yes I remove the wings. I leave the struts attached to 1 set of wings. Only takes about 5 mins to set up
