Oz

I used the back edge of wing spar next to hatch covers.
I had to cut a battery opening in under side of wing LE area
to get proper cg. If I can help with some other tricks to improve
your plane, let me know.

Thanks for that.. I am using a ST .51 in mine so I'm hoping the extra weight will balance out ok..

I am going to cut and install the wing joiners tonight (didnt come with the 90% complete arf i bought) should these be 50mmx500mm? like.. does the joiner go right to the end of the tube in the wing?

I am going to drill a bunch of holes in the joiner piece after i glue the two halves together to try and cut down on the weight

Anything else I can do before glueing the wings together that you can think of would be appreciated =]

No the spar doesn't seem to go to the end of each slot.
Just mark the centerline of spar nad make sure it stays at wing
joint. I don't think it is worth the time or risk to lighten the spar.
The plane really will fly light anyway. It's a real floater. Be sure
to use a couple of 2mm thk. washers to give right thrust on your
engine. And DON'T hook the tail wheel to rudder. The bottom of
rudder is real weak. I took the supplied tailwheel metal and made
a simple tail skid that mounts to the rear of fuse. It will still turn
very well. Get some yellow Monocote trim sheet to go over top of
fuse because the paint will come off on your hand. I cut a strip
about 1 1/8" wide and laid over top. Also did in black too over
canopy area -- but it needs to be a little wider.

Once plane is done -- watch where you grab the fuse sides since
it doesn't take much pressure to break thru the shelf paper. A
friend just did that last week at the field while cleaning.

I'm lucky in that I bought the ARF uncovered.. the person who originally bought it has ripped the covering off (he had a couple TT arfs before and learned his lesson on the covering)

So I have re-covered the plane in monokote and I dont have to worry about the paint or weak covering =]

Thanks for the headsup on right thrust - will do.

As for the tailwheel, I have already installed it I might try and uninstall it - I used a longer tailwire (not the standard one - i didnt get the hardware with the ARF) and I might give it a try before ditching it - worst thing can happen is i mash the rudder on the first landing (hmm thats kinda crud - might replace it)

I'll post some pictures in a couple hours on my lunchbreak!

What size wheels do you reccomend? I got some 2 1/4 ones but I have the feeling they are too small
