Default GP. Pitts and Christen Eagle?

Which of the 2 are more aerobatic? I noticed that the christen eagle is almost 2 pounds heavier. I wonder where the extra weight is coming from? Anybody know?

I'm not sure where that information is coming from but the Eagle and Pitts are pretty much the same airplane. Both should weight in around 18 lbs, and there are a couple threads by people who have built the Eagle using a Fuji 50 and they came in a little over 18 lbs which is to be expected since the Fuji has all that extra weight associated with the ignition. As far as aerobatic I would have to say they both will perform the same.

Thanks. The GP web site has the Eagle listed as roughly 2lbs heavier. I think Santa plans on surprising me with the Christen Eagle. Gonna go with a BME 55Xtreme I think. Maybe pull pull on the rudder depending on how everybody elses balances.
Dont know how to shave weight. Will have to wait and see.

I would think the CE would present better in flight.
It has more wing area even though it is shorter in length

I can't speak for the Eagle, but have the Pitts. Based on all I have read and my own experience now with two Pitts models from G.P. I would think they would fly in a very similar manner. One thing to note, the shorter fuse may make the ground spin tendency more pronounced on the CE. I certainly have experienced this with both Pitts -1 and II. How much offset is built into the CE firewall on the mounting box? The Pitts as roughly 3 degrees offset built in. I had thought about possibly adding one more degree when having Aerografix make the 1 3/4" offset spacers. Now that I have flow Pitts-II with the DA-50 I may tinker with this if have have difficulty getting the touch and balance right between the throttle and the rudder on the takeoff roll. It most likely is more pilot related so I am going to work on me first.
