From: Huntington Beach, CA,
I just bought this plane and probably will get it in a week or so. I read most of the posts, but I was wondering if anyone has put the ys 110 on this extra? I was thinking about the saito 100, I really like the weight of the saito. I was hoping that anyone who put in the saito 100 on this plane could tell me if it was still tail heavy or did it turn out nose heavy? - and Where are the batteries were located?
I was initially thinking the saito 100, but I saw a 60 size plane witht he saito 100 turning a 16-4 and it really did not have much top end, although I know this flyer was mainly interested in 3d type flying. I guess a 15-6 might help that,...
I am not sure what I really wanna do this this plane, but I thought the ys 110 might be the best of both worlds, speed and torque...? aany thoughts on this engine with this plane?

Do you have a weight on the y.s. 110? I have a .91 two stroke on mine and the motor weighs in at 32 ozs with a pitts muffler and the entire kit came in at 7 lbs 15 ozs ready to fly. Battery pack is on the bulkhead behind the servo tray and receiver in front of the servo tray. Balanced perfect like this. I'd think if the y.s. is anything under 30 ozs it will be easy to balance this plane.
Miloh.

tower says the weight is: Weight with muffler: 1.76 lbs (800g), so I think that is 28 ounces. so if yours is 32 oz then it sounds like I will be ok with this.
I am going to put in duel servos for the ailerons so I can add flaps, and duel servos for the elevator of course. Is the kit set up for duel servos for the ailerons? do you have this config?

great, thanks, I just bought the YS110 from chiefs, 334 out the door shipping and no tax, central had it for 323 +5 shipping, but no stock... I have my reservations about the ys, I know its more complicated, I hope it works out.
What type of servos are you running in this plane? anyone using an aftermarket fuel tank?

There have been a few fairyly comprehensive threads on this subject....here's one.

These are a great plane that can be made even better with a few choice mods. Best to have all the info to make them while you are installing radio and engine gear.
Stock tank and Futaba 3004s all around on mine. Sullivan tail wheel assy. Flies very nicley - even more so now with this on the front of it!
MVVS 91, Bisson Pits, APC 15x6 (break in), semi-shiny spinner...and oh yeah....10-12" of snow on the way tonight....sigh...

And while I was snapping....
2 strokes are great, but somtimes I miss the grunt of a "thumper"...
This is the reason my wife likes RC...she figures that at least the object flying through the air isn't me!
