I have the DP edge 540t. I have the Moki 2.10 on the nose. PLENTY of power. the only thing is whenever I allpy a little more power than what it is trimmed for, it wants to climb like I inputed elevator. I know the power has alot to do with it but I was wondering if I adjusted the Stab. would this help to compensate? Or is there something else I can do to kinda smooth this out? I wind up retrimming it in flight for the different throttle speeds. Can mixing throttle help? [

Stuffer,
I don't have experience with this model yet, but will shortly. I have one to build so let us know what you find out. I would not mix the elevator with the throttle, I think this is masking the problem. You could probably fix it with engine thrust, but with the adjustable stab on the DP I would start there. I would change the stab angle slightly negative to give a little more down input, and keep adjust as necessary. Where is you Cg set at? My manula says 6, but according to other RCUers and DP website that needs to be revised to be closer to 5 in. Let us know how it goes.
Good Luck,
Ryan

From my experience with DP 330L be careful adjusting the horizontal stab! Maybe 1/2 turn at a time, fly, adjust again, your going to have to raise the leading edge. That adjustment on mine is a little more sensitive than I thought it would be!

your engine may not have enough downthrust or a stab may need more incidence. if it is a balance problem, it will always want to do the same thing but it will be a little different with less power of course. if the faster it goes the more up it goes, there is something that is either pulling it up or something not holding it down.

If it climbs as speed increases it may be nose heavy. If it immediately pitches up when power is increased it may need down thrust added.Just wondering what effect chopping the throtle has on pitch?

Ryan, I had the CG @ 5.25 but it flew too tail heavy. I added 6oz to the tail , so I took it out. it flies beautifully! its just the power to climb thing I have to work out. I put in about a degree or so of down thrust today and if the winds calm down this weekend I will see how it effected it. A little negitive ( leading edge up? ) on the stab is in order too. these are minor items compared to how this plane flies. so nice, so smooth. Maybe some day I will see what she can do at more than 1/2 throttle!
