Have you guys with the J3 ARF reinforced the wing center with glass tape and epoxy? It's not mentioned in the instructions, but I have always done this on my other 2 piece wings. Thanks Bill

I have a GP Cub. I didn't glass the center section. The wing joiner broke when I hooked a wing in the water. This was a very low speed impact that happened while taxing and a wing gust hit the plane. It only broke loose the glue joints on the tip, but the "hardwood" wing joiner snapped like balsa. I had to replace the wing only because I couldn't replace the joiner without major surgery. The first replacement wing was not useable, the covering was not secured in several places and was sent back. The second replacement wasn't much better and I gave up on GP and fixed the covering myself. I will use a plywood laminated joiner on this wing I do not plan on glassing the center section. If GP had supplied a better grade material for the joiner it would be sufficient.
I have a GP Patty Wagstaff Extra and it is great but this Cub has been a major dissapointment, not well done at all, must have been built on Monday by someone with a hangover.
