One if the guys at the field bought one, looks great, flew great too. After about 5 flights, he was letting the club president fly it, and then the stabilizer broke in half and flew off, uh you can pretty much guess the rest! We could only find one half of it. The plane was not being flown wide open at this point when it broke. Have there been ant other problems with this plane? Do you think Thunder Tiger might help him out?

Sorry to hear about your friends misfortune. I also have one that I have been flying for the past 2 mos and I absolutely love it. I can see where your friend could get in trouble if he followed the ARF instructions to the T. There are some things in there that leave a lot to be desired.

The instructions call for the builder to use an epoxy fillet for the horizontal stab. I have been building for at least 12 years and knew that this was trouble. Instead I used 1/2 inch triangle stock for the fillet on the top and bottom of the stab. I know that this may sound like overkill, but its for my own piece of mind. I also fiberglassed both wings as well as doing some other mods.

I have put this little airplane through its paces and its definitely a survivor. I have an O.S.48 4-Stroke Surpass in it and its a great match. I know that some people were concerned about the cabanes, but they're fine.
