Default VQ ZERO CG?

Hi, need help with the VQ CG, and should I do it with the grear up or down.
this will be my first low wing, warbird.

i dont know about the cg placement, but do it with the gear up, because that is the position they will be in for flight except for landings and tafe off....

I just found my instruction manual, and the CG is at 107mm from the leading edge of the wing at the wing center. Balance the plane upside down with the gear retracted into the wing.

You can always buy a metric ruler. To convert 107mm to inch, divide it by 25.4 (1 inch = 25.4mm).

The Great Planes C.G. Machine has both metric and english units on it, and it's a very handy tool for balancing .60 sized and smaller models.

The conversion is approx 25.35 mm to the inch.

107mm = ~ 4 7/32 in.

Balance it at 4 1/8" to 4 1/4" and you will be fine.

If you have a ruler, it will probably have both in. and mm. on it. If you don't, go to a stationery store and get one for a buck or so.

I'm curious to find out where you got 25.35mm to the inch. If you check in your college Chemistry, Physics, or Calculus book, it's exactly 25.4mm to the inch. If you punch 1" into your scientific calculator and ask it to convert to millimeters, you will get exactly 25.4mm.

I believe I said approx. 25.35. I don't have an engineering calculator, or a chemistry, physics or calculus text book for that matter, and I didn't have my conversion tables handy so I figured it in my head. Anyway, I think you will find that for Dennis H.'s purposes, 25.35 ~= 25.4.
