Default Servo placement

Good day all...

I'm beginning assy. of an Ultra Stik .40. Gonna' put the servos in the tail, fuselage sides. Do I want them as far back as possible, centered between the to rear formers, or does it matter??

Also, the fuse is tapered aft. Do I need to mount the servos "square" using the center line as reference, or can I mount 'em directly to the fuse sides. ( w/ proper bracing/support.) For best geometry I think mounting them "square" will be best.

Maybe a pic or two??

Sorry if I'm beating this to death, my search in this forum didn't turn up any specifics..

Thanks!!

OOPs!! Did a search of the whole site, found what I needed... Sorry!!!

This is not an Ultra Stick, but here is how I mounted mine on a Cap 232. I think its best to try to mount the leading edge of the servo even with the leading edge of the stab. Depending how the ultrastick is designed you may want to pre check the balance b4 finalizing the location.

I think there were pic's of this somewhere. Do a search of this plane and check.

Normally this plane is nose heavy so CG-wise that should work out good. I'd try to keep them out of the way of exhaust glow if possible.
