All,
I have always built my planes, thought recently I have not had as much time so I have been moving to ARF. My first ARF is a Sonic 25 Low wing from Phoenix models. Well I like it so much I decided to get another well this same palne is very tail heavy. I used the same setup as for servos batteries and even the same engine. The built quality is the same as well. Very good for a cheaper priced plane. On this one I had to add a 2oz spinner weight and 3 3/4 oz of lead to the front of the plane to get it to balance. I moved the battery forward under the tank as well. Why would there be such a big difference in balance.. I am a little worried of it's flying ability after adding nearly a 1/2 pound of weight to the thing... Is this normal for ARF aircraft? On all of my previous kit planes I never needed to add weight. I just shuffled around the radio equipment to get the desired balance.?
So two questions will this fly with a 1/2 pound on the plane and is this normal that the same exact model and setup have such a difference in weight balance?
Thanks!
Happy flying!

I've been wanting to get this same plane for awhile-nice to hear the build quality is good. It has about the same lines as goldbergs tiger which also seems tail-heavy...Don't know about you, but I like to overpower-so maybe hanging a 46 on the firewall is the answer--Will post results if I do
