Will the Simply Magic 3D? Will it be good for 3rd plane (actually second, but I will alreadly have mastered beginner aerobatics because I am training on tigerII)
It's nice and cheap; if it doesn't I'll spring for a Funtana.
My budget is the size of a subatomic particle
I will put up to a .60 size 4stroke on it.
PS do I need a Hi-Tork servo on any surface other than rudder?

I bought the magic Extra for my son and it does some 3D very well, some not so well. It harriers very well, hovers very well, inverted flight is a breeze. Knife edge is ok considering. Haven't managed to get a decent waterfall or elevator out of it yet probably 'cause it is so light. I have heard the simply magic is pretty good at some stuff, not so good at others. You might do better with a U-can -do . The Funtana is a great flyin g plane (I have two of 'em) but NOT a good plane to learn 3D on unless you like buying balsa. Not very forgiving near the ground and thats where 3D is learned. If you just want to tumble around and/or hover/torque roll, get the magic extra. I learned to do rolling circles in one day with it. It's a fun little plane.
As for servo's standard sports on everything but the elevator will be fine.

Has anyone tried a 70 size 4 cycle like the Surpass I or Surpass II on the Model Tech Simply Magic ? Box says for up to 70 4 stroke. I would like to hear from anyone who has experience installing & flying with that size motor on the Simply Magic or possibly also the Magic Extra. Was balance a problem with the big motor ? How does it perform ? Thank you Skitimberlake.

I have the magic extra with 46FX, a friend has the simply magic with magnum 52. IMO magic extra and simply magic are the same plane with different covering jobs. You'll have a nose weight problem if you install an engine heavier than the two mentioned above.

I think with the simply magic or magic extra, putting in a 4 stroke requires some handiwork. I remember that I didn't buy it because the engine mounts are too short and I'd have to cut away part of the firewall in order to fit my Y.S.63. If you're not in to doing a little work, do a little investigative work before plunk good money for a plane that might need a lot of better work to get it flying!

The main difference between the Simply Magic and the Magic Extra is that the Simply has a cowl. I have the Magic Extra with an OS 46AX, 12x4 APC and it is a vertical rocket.
