I just ordered a M.T. Extra 300 .25 size ARF because it is so cheap- and sounds like a lot for $80. I plan to use a .30 FS Magnum in it, and widen the ailerons and use them as flaperons to get slower landings. This plane has been advertised for several years, and there should be people experienced in flying them. I have heard of .40-.46 2S engines being used in them, but I prefer slower planes, and hope that the FS with a large flat prop will put it thru its paces. I'll apreciate any input on this model.

I bought one of those about a year ago.
I thought the airplane was not Engineered or built very well.
I put an OS 25FX in mine. Very wild airplane very hard to handle.
After I finally was able to fly the airplane it flew well at high speeds.
Floats in for landings. It's too small and not very stable.
I have mine permanently parked on the wall now.
My MT extra 300S has a nickname... we call it T-REX (Tiny red extra)
but T-REX is adequate to describe the flight charateristics of the MT extra.
I hope yours flies better than mine, post your experience back on the forum
and let us know how yours does.

A guy in my club has one, and it is a nice little plane. He said his was very stable, but it is fast. Extra's are fast in the first place, especially the little ones. It floats in for landing anyway. I'd leave the ailerons like they are.

The best $80 dollars I have ever flown. We fly on sod fields, so we either have hand launch
size, or giants. I put in a Magnum .25. It was hot, but loads of fun. With the landing gear
off, it would slide in so sweet. I had my elevator throw a little radical, & it would snap stall
comming out of a loop. It was just elevator mis-management. I did a snap too close to the
ground & then it snapped again. I think an OS .20 FP would be about right. Enjoy! Johnny C!
