Well last week I finally finished my freestyle .40 plane and named it (Der Weiner after my Dashound). I also got a visit from santa with a new Futaba 9CHP radio. WHOOOWEE I was ready to go.
The plane has a magnum 52 XLS and other than having a low idle loading up problem, Which is just about solve, (I need one more 1/8 turn onthe low end screw and should be done).it runs like a bandit.
so I took my new plane out to the club and let the experts do a full check over and got the "Thumbs UP" so since I have only flown a top wing plane (big Stick with tricycle gear), I asked two of the experts to fly it for me, . They did and put it thru its paces and they liked it very much (except the low end idle< which we kept working on). Since both know me well , we set up some low rates and they said "fly it" I did and and YE GADS it was amazing!!!!!!!;..... this thing rolls so fast !... it was awesome!!! like blink one eye and do a 4 point roll and blink the other eye and do a 8 point roll (yes one eye is slower than the other). got in two flights, and I know this I am going to have to be very very very careful and keep a 3 error high flight pattern going until I get use to the new plane. Last note, this is my first tail dragger and my first landing was 3 point perfect!!!!!.......... (grin)......
The plane looks good, flys good, was easy to assemble, and balance was almost perfert, only thing I found to be an issue was that I had to get a miniture receiver (hitech 6) to be able to fit the switch, battery pack and receiver in the compartment. there is no room or margin for anything.
Well, I can say that this was a good buy for me and can recommend the plane.
