Hey Basinbum,
You going to tame it up a bit after flying your Patty? I've got a Shoestring with OS 61fx. Would be better with 91fx. Watch how you mount the landing gear and make sure you reinforce landing block and lower stringers. Other than that it is a nice plane.
Patty is the best though,
John

I'm building one of these right now with a YS 110 for power. I plan on using stock hardware except for the tailwheel which I upgraded to a Sullivan and a 24 oz. tank. Standard Hitec servos on all control surfaces.
So far I am impressed with this models construction. The covering was wrinkled out of the box but I think that has more to do with weather conditions during manufacture and shipping than quality. Being Monocote a little time with an iron and sock got everything sealed down fine.
I have read about landing gear ripping out on this one but after talking to some guys at my field who own it I think it is fine for asphalt run ways.
The YS is gonna get mounted inverted so as not to need additional lead for lateral balancing. I saw one the other day with a .60 2-stroke mounted on it's side and it looked good and had great slow flight charecteristics but the YS needs to go upside down I think.
The only thing I havn't liked so far was a gap between the cockpit piece that get's glued to the wing. It leaves a 3/16 gap (at least on mine) so I filled it in with balsa and covered it with some more Cub Yellow Monocote. I also used the Monocote to make a trim piece to cover the edge of the canopy where it gets glued down. I didn't like the plastic edge unfinished and black tape would have stood out to much on this one.
All that's left now is to mount the larger tank which will go over the CG and needed a little hogging out of the bulkhead to accomodate it. Also the tail servos and radio, I'll do the battery last to help with the CG.
Can't wait to do the maiden on this one as I have heard nothing but good stuff about the way it flies.

I saw this plane fly with a Saito 100, and it was fast (guesing 90-110 range). It has tons of power. The owner was coming across the runway at 1/3 throttle(low and slow), punched it, and almost torqued it into the ground.
Wish I could see you fly it with the 110 (would hate to do your laundry
).
