Crashland,
Are you balancing the plane inverted and measuring the wing next to the fuselage?
With a Supertigre .61 mine balanced with a Higley Heavy Hub (3oz) and a 1400 mah battery against the firewall inside.
What's for power?
Retracts? Up or down when balancing?
1 lb seems like a lot to me.

Oh I aint sure on the retracts bein up or down. Which should it be? I have it inverted. Also I had the balance bars both ways, next to the fuse and out a bit. I have a Magnum 61 4stroke. With all my gear in the front near the firewall.

Gear should be retracted when you balance. Try the heavy hub. It's very effective way out there on the end of the shaft.

Well, I finnaly got it done and the engine broke in. It took off good with enough ground speed. Much better than a corsair. It flew very good even with the mag. 61 4stroke. It needed just a few clicks to compinsate for the ailerons but it wanted to climb bad for which was probly my fault in setting the throws wrong. It landed excellent. Just kinda glided in. If it ever skids sideways the retracts are barley strong enough to hold it up but they did and I had to adjust them. But in all I love it. Anyone who wants a good flying warbird, or trainer, this is the one.

OK Crash. Congratulations and best of luck with your AT-6/SNJ. It's a great airplane.

I had one with .90 2 stroke up front and still had to add 1 lb of weight. This is normal for a fair amount of Warbirds. Hope this helps you.
