Has anybody recieved a new Ultimate or Edge from the new shipment that Dave Patrick says that they have gotten in?
Just wondering if they didn't ship mine because they had to rush off to the AMA show, or if they shipped ANY of the new lot out yet.

Id like to know when that 40%er will be ready. Good question. Though 45 lbs. is a lot for 40%. What you guys think. Flew good at the Nall

I spoke to them at the AMA Convention yesterday as I am awaiting an Edge 540.
They were not able to get anything out last week due to QA checks and readying for the weekend show; and anticipated shipping to begin Tuesday of this week; and everything is in stock.

I wonder what "in stock" means? As a friend of mine pointed out, depending on who you talk to, sometimes "in stock" sometimes means "in stock somewhere, but we aren't sure where that is."

I was at the show also! I looked at the new Yellow Ultimate and it is a superb piece of work. Everything is laser cut and should weigh about 1/2# lighter than the original. I opened a box and the covering was pristine! I opted for the new purple and white pearl one which he did not have but said he had it at home to ship this week. Dave's customer service has lacked in the past but he does put out the effort. He's so personable that I think he gets side tracked too easily. Anyway these new Ultimates are much better than the extra and edge(and they are awesome!)

I haven't received my blue Ulty yet, but I did see that they charged my credit card on 1/6/04.
I have to say that I'm a little upset with their service (gee, an unhappy DP customer???
). I placed my order back in early July last year and also ordered the instrument panel and a medium tailwheel. Last month, they had a sale where they would throw in the instrument panel for free with the purchase of a kit. I emailed Sandy and asked if I could get my instrument panel for free since they had this special, and I have been waiting (patiently, I might add) for over five months. No reponse, and the amount charged looks like they charged me for it.
Of course, I'll forget all about the wait once this baby is built and flying nice. Now to order the motors, servos and who knows what other stuff. This is gonna be one high $$$ aircraft.

my 40% Radiocraft AFT weighs in at just under 42 lbs i would think DP can do that amount if not better. my set up is with cans on a 29 x 12 x 3 futchs plus the older model 3w-150 and nmhi batteries the big ones 2-2700 plus 1-1650 and the big hitec on the rudder and no carbon fiber anything and i love this babys flight, but then again i am no ke ke[8D]

Well I got my blue Ulty today. Looks awesome, but we all knew that.
But the wonderful DP service strikes again. I ordered this plane back in July and also ordered the instrument panel and the medium Ultra tailwheel. DP charged my credit card for all three items, but only shipped the plane. No sales receipt or packing slip so it looks like they just spaced and forgot it. [:@]
Anyone want to take bets on how long it takes them to ship these parts?

SkyDude,
Don't worry, I bet that you will get everything before 2004 ends. Oh, and be patient with the customer service strike, because with such an amazingly wonderful service, it's worth waiting for the end of the strike.

Yea...I see Cardens and TBMs built at 36lbs. or less. 40%
If its you building and you arent the best builder and your using NiMH then I can understand., But a company should have a 40%er around the weight of a Carden. Hey guys check out my friends site: www.bigairplanes.com. Jason Shulman and Frank Noll have noth flown the Pitts 12. He scratch built it. 3W has one (aircraft international) but it is nothing compared to this guys Pitts. Take a look at it.

I just got off the phone with Sandy at DP. She said the components are shipped separately from the plane, so it's just a matter of time.

I love Dave Patrick products but I wish they had much better customer service. If you search this site that is probably the only complaint that you will see stated more than once about DPM or their products. Kind of a shame if you ask me because with great customer service they would be even more successful and respected. I usually buy my DPM stuff from Chief because they are awesome.

Hey Gang,
Some serious shipping started happening today; I talked to Sandy and agreed she should put on the answering machine and get packing!
Anyhow, my order of January 3rd just charged on my card, so it should be on the way.

I talked to Sandy yesterday, and she assured me that my Yellow Ulty would ship today!!
She also offered me a killer deal on a Moki 1.35 and muffler. Aparently they don't "really" carry Moki any more, but she has some in stock and offered to sell me one for $250 +$50 for muffler. Aren't they're usually $350?
Sandy is a very pleasent person, and my impression of their organization is that they are simply stretched thin and there are not enough hours in the day to give everyone the care that they deserve.
This is my first DP product. If it shows up on time, and is as flyer as everyone says it is, it will not be my last.
