Well I went and flew the other day with my extra 300s GP kit. It flew very well and I went to bring it in and so far no problems other than coming in too fast so I make for another pass, still too fast so I go for one more, stupid me, I slowed down too much too early and about 1/4 of a miile from me she went into a death spin and cut some lumber. But to my surprise it only tore off the elevator and dented the wing or shattered is more like it in one spot. Definatly fixable. Thank the good Lord, the engine was TORN off and had wood drove into the head fins. LOL! I actually thought it was funny. The cowl didnt make it but I was wanting a fiberglass one anyway. Where can a feller get one for the GP 40 size kit?

Sorry to hear about your crash.
The Gp extra 300 40 size extra is an aerobatic, so don't try and slow it down too much!
The aerobatic type of aircraft will only slow down so much and then it will fall like a rock.
You can get another cowling(fiberglass) from Stan's Fibertech with or without the standoffs.

I have the wing finished besides installing the servo, and I have the horizontal stab and elevators finished other than covering and installing. I found a cowl, i just have to order it. I am going ahead and put my old faithfull OS 61 fx, if I had to bet, this engine has at least if not more than 10 gal. through it. I got it 2nd hand and that feller flew the fire out of it.

Well I have it all done other than installing the wing servo and double checking the balance. I put in a OS 61 fx and a pitts muffler on it and am anxious to get it in the air once the good Lord decides to let the wind die down LOL! I will post pics when it is ready.
