Default GSP Katana 72" 120 surpass

I have read almost all the posts on this plane, and it is a very lenghty thread. There is a ton of awesome info in it,but I thought I could start a fresh one.I just aquired this kit myself. It was a complete impulse buy...I remember reading alot of good things on it and when I spotted it and seen the price,it somehow ended up in the back of my truck
I have a just broken in OS 120 surpass I was going to use. This will probably be not enough to wring it out to it's potential, but my flying style is a little more on the scale aerobatic side.If this engine will allow me to come in Harrier/Elevator and do a short hover/TR ,and then fly out scale like,I would be happy,Tumbles spins and KE aren't really power manouvers,so I hope it will perform them.Prop selection will play a big factor,so I will spend some time experimenting. If anybody is running this combo and has some suggestions,I would love to hear them. Thanks in advance

To reply to myself, now that I have somewhat assembled this bird,it is starting to look like the 1.2 is going to be too weak. The Katana is a nice size and not the lightest, but general construction was impressive.
Heck I am gonna fly her as hard as she will allow,so it looks like an OS 1.6 FX or Moki 1.8 need to be attached to the firewall.Double bevelled edges....NICE!

the 120 will fly it but you will need to put the servos in front of the fuse, you are right though it wont be able to hover.

Ho do you think a YS 1.20 will work with this plane?

Your flying weight will be around 11-1/2 to 12 pounds, that might be a couple of pounds two much for any of the 120 4-strokes as far as hovering, other than that the plane will fly fine with the 1.20 but the verticle manuvers will be limited by inertia vs gravity.

take care
