Walked into a model shop (Hobby Store for US cousins) and walked out with a Hirobo Stream 50 HiPerf Aerobatic ARTF. Seems that it was one of only two imprted into the UK.
The kit is spot on and very high quality. Wing, Fuz, Tail all made out of light-weight balsa. Seems be be well covered with Pro-film type covering. Cowl and spats are painted and are the very light glass fibre. General finish excellent. Even the Dural U/C comes painted in metalic blue!
The surprise is that the engine mount is quite a novel rubber bushed plate affair, designed specifically around the OS52FS and YS 53/63FS (parts provided for both Engines). I have a YS FZ53 sitting in a box for mine. Seems quite a good design and should provide good noise damping.
The hardware pack includes everything needed except a spinner!
I have not seen or heard anything about Hirobo ARTF's before .. but this one really does look like a winner. The quality is right up there with Kyosho.
If anyboady is intrested I could take snaps with the digital camera and post them.

Hideho Zippo,
Yes, by all means post pictures. I suppose the proper thing to do would be to do a review on the plane/engine combo and post it here in the review forum, perhaps?
Thanks and welcome to RCU.

Its pretty much in the pattern model mold. Control surfaces are of moderate size, which would rule it out of being in the 3D class. It cost GBP £170.00 - which is cheaper than the Majestic was a year or so ago at GBP £200 - its just as good ! (why am I trying to justifying spending the money ... guilt I expect!)
Interestingly .. I've looked at the Hirobo website and the picture and description there says the kit as comes with retracting gear. This one is fixed gear only.
Mike
Thanks for your comment .. but I wouldn't have a clue how to post a review.
The YS-53 was liberated from a store in Orlando while on holiday earlier in the year and returned to the 'old' country!

zipo,
I understand that the stream 50 comes in a number of diffrent guzzes. the photo on the hibro site is of the pattern ship with retracts. then there is one with fixed gear, like yours. Then there is an extream or FS model, fixed gear and 3d contol surfaces. I think the Ali, Als Hobbies had these and the wanted nearly £300 each. The wsigt is good though talk of them being about 4.5lbs ready to fly.
Cheers

I got the kit from Slough RC. Quite often pop in there as they normally have some interesting kits in stock. Sounds as if GBP £170 wasn't a bad price after all.
In the past I have bought a Pilot Seduction FS (£119), EZ CAP-3D (£149) and a Pilot Beat-on 50K Kit (£49.99) from them. At the moment they also have a couple of the Hirobo Pitts (for .15's) in stock for £125. Quite tempting .. but look as if it could be a bit of a handfull.

zipo,
I got my seduction FS from Singapour and Derek at RCaerosport. With the post and all cost me just over £100 mark. I will be very intrested to see how you get on with the stream.
I now have ZNline MAdness, seduction FS and Tai Ji 40, all YS 63 powered. How do you find the beat on? and what are you powering it with? I was looking for a replacment for my kyosho majestic (I killed it, one prange too many) and the best I could come up with was the tai ji. Its good but I find it very mild to what I had, and am flying now. Also I think it is about 1.5lbs over weight. It is good to practice the patterns and stuff. Look forward to some picy's
Cheers
