Well Sunday I finally took my .25 - .36 size extra 300 for its maiden flight with an OS .46 ( 10-6prop) for the power plant. All I can say is WOW what a change from flying my ugly stick. I had 3 flights with it on Sunday and would have liked to flown more but the wind wasnt really favorable. The plane seemed really twitchy but I am guessing its because of its small size with the winds. I am just curious if anyone else is running this same setup and if they are happy with it. I know some guys are running the OS .40 la found some write ups with the search and thats why I decided to try the .46.

I just purchased the Model Tech 300 and with it bought a magnum XLS 36
The plane is finished all that is left is to balance the CG
Could your plane be twitchy because the CG is OFF?
What is your CG
I plan on trying mine out at the 3 1/8 the factory recomends.

I think my CG is good for right now. I have it set where the book recommends. My batteries are just behind the two rear servos. I had it setup fairly good on the ground and it only needed a few clicks of the trim once I got it up. I think it was just the wind getting to me. One of the guys I fly with brought out a kite buggy which is a big kite and then a buggy with three wheels and it was pulling him around the field.

Let me know how you like yours with the .36 I think I might consider running a smaller engine to save some weight. Right now my vertical performance is incredible but it still might perform better in other areas with the lighter smaller engine.

Shawn What type of reciever batt. are you using? Mine is the old Airtonics flat pack and it only fits up front behind the gas tank.
I would love to mout the battery [ack in the rear and get rid of the add on weight

Its a hanger 9 square pack 700mah. I had to put the battery in before I could glue the servo trey in place. After you wrap the batteries in foam its a tight fit.

update I got a chance to fly again today and the plane flew great. Much better than my first experiance with it. Some of the covering is pealing up on the top of the wing but I will seal it back up tonight and it should be good to go for tomorrow or this weekend.
