I have a SIG Extra 300XS with a OS 1.60 in it. Its great for Pattern flying, but the elevators are too small to do 3D. Some people I've heard have been able to get the plane to hover, but I think thats it.
You Moki is more then enough power for the Extra 300XS
Sorry no Pictures. All Sig Extra 300XS look alike, except mine.

I agree, if you had a choice though, I think the Moki 2.1 would be a better choice.

Mine will hover barely with the O.S. 1.60, and from what I've seen, power to weight is pretty similar to the Moki 1.8.

PropAce,
Do a search on this plane and you will find enough to keep yourself reading for quite awhile.

Wow, that is a SUPER COMBO. The 2.1 is not needed one bit on this plane. I owed it and flew it really really well with the MOKI 1.8. Great setup.

I loved this thing, even after I screwed the pooch and put it in in an inverted spin. Really nice, smoooooth airplane . My MOKI was a pleasure, still is.

You could go with the 1.6, I think you would be much happier with the Moki 1.8 though.
I have Saito 1.8 on mine and that give's it more of a scale type of power, not much in the way of vertical.
The Moki on the other hand should do quite well I would think, my Hanger 9 540 is unlimited with this combo and wieght is about the same.
Nice plane that 300xs, may not do all the tricks but something about the way it fly's is just awesome!
Come to think of it, I have a GP Patty, a 540 another 300 from vector and chose the 300xs as my avatar, that must mean something right?

is it safe to go with a bigger engine than an OS 160 FX 2 stroke i hear the fire wall is weak and the moki 180 is a pain to break in.[8D]

I had the plane ... flies great ... I'm not a good 3D pilot .
The plane is great in knife edge flight, better than my GP Patty 300. Tumbled well also.
Had a Saito 180 in it, didn't have any trouble doing vertical eights ... didn't really attempt hover.
Made an altitude judgement error coming out of an inverted flat spin ... bellied it in.
Have thought about purchasing another, but decided to try a CAP first.
