Default GP Patty or Christen Eagle

Let's hear opinions on these two. I''ve gotten down to these 2 for my next plane. Power will be 50cc gas, not sure which one. I'm not into 3D, just really overpowered scale like flying

The Extra is much more forgiving than the Eagle as for landing approach if you haven't flown a bi-plane. The Pitts is a bit more stable due to a slightly longer tail moment. I'm building an Eagle the same size and engine, so naturally I'd be partial toward it. Sounds like it comes down to whether you like red or white.

I'm putting together the GP Christen Eagle II with Fuji BT-50SA (spring starter) combo.

I think one question you might want to entertain: What do you want to do with the airplane? If your looking for IMAC-type aerobatics then either one will be a good selection. If your looking for 3D then I think the Xtra would be a better choice.

My GP CE has a DA-50 and weighs 18lbs. Its a great flyer and lands much better than previous CE's. It's a real tumbler and stable in the air.
My buddy has the GP Patty with a BME 50. Again this bird is a great flyer and stable on landing. Lands just a hair slower than the CE.
I've flown both and can say..... You are going to have problems trying to decide. The CE is heavier but is a head turner. They both look great. Time to flip a coin!

I have flown the patty and it is great plane.
I have flown a bipe before and other than the short fuselage, it is a good flyer.

Maybe you get two wings, but only half a fuselage

well, you mentioned it earlier : You are not into 3D flying. That makes the answer simple. Get the better looking one : The Christen Eagle . Trust me, like the guys mentioned before : It will get a lot more looks at your field.
Here is mine. Powered by a DA 50 it is a fine flying bipe with no bad habits.
