World Models Skraider Mach II
#27
Received the airplane. Looks great (although they did send the yellow instead of the white). Doesnt look like a tough build -- even for a newbie like me. I'll hit the hobby shop next week and pick up a new flight pack and an engine. I'm going to put an Evolution .46 on it. Any suggestions for a prop?
I'll take pictures along the way. Wish me luck!

Start with an 11 x 6, then maybe go for the Bolly 10.5 x 7 for a compromise on speed/torque or the 10 x 7 for some speed.

I am so happy that you guys are more than satisfied with your WM models. I love that company and I visit them regularly in Hong Kong. I am friends with the people that man the store... nice people. I have bought a fair share of their models and am about ready to sink another lump of cash on the 60 size spits. I hope you guys continue to buy from them because I do think they bring quality kits out at a very reasonable price.

safe to say that generally all WM planes fly nice and the quality is good. I mean look at the horns and clevises that they supply.

I have been flying my skyraider II with Supertigre 45 and it will go vertical out of sight. I am really happy with it, especially for the price. In fact I have 3 more coming, they just came in from backorder. I am keeping one and the other 2 are for friends.
I had trouble withe the pushrods binding too. I took a spare wire pushrod and heated with a propane torch and pushed into the plastic guide (not too hot) and remolded the exit. I also used the treaded end to file out the area too. It works pretty good now.
I also, put a great planes 60 size aluminum gear on mine with a plywood backplate glued inside.
Way to go World Models!!! Excellent value....

Just finished assembling my Skyraider Mach II
I used a HiTec Laser (4 channel) and an Evolution .46
Also got an APC 10/7 prop for it.
Using 10% fuel.
Engine started on the first turn. I've yet to maiden it though.
I detailed my assembly experience (4 days from box to completion) in the thread, 'My Skyraider Mach II'
-Wish me luck!-
