I currently own a H9 Piper J3 Cub with Saito 56 and am already thinking about my next plane. I really like warbirds. I like the .40 GP P51. I like that I can use my Saito 56 in this plane. Might save me money, however, there seems to be lot of choices in the H9 P51s, the GSP P51 and the GSP Spitfire, even the WM offerings... I know the pundits say the Spitfire is dfficult to fly, but I am leaning toward the GSP Spit as it seems to be offering the best value. $300 for this size of aircraft is hard to beat. I can fly the one in AFP pretty well already, so I am not intimidated by its flight characteristics.
Any thought and ideas in this?? How are the existing retracts?? Which two stroke would you reccommend?? I was thinking of OS and/or Moki in the 1.08 range, though don't know if either has such a size. Thanks!

I saw at my club a Hanger 9 ARF P-51 and it flat out was a beautiful plane. I never have been much into war-birds but that sucker sitting on the tarmac looked like the real thing.
only bad thing I noticed were the rather weak wire retracts. Definitely room for a upgrade there.
other than that I am seriously in love, I would buy on myself but a member that is alway sat the field has one so maybe another Hanger 9 war-bird is in my future.
