I got this plane in on a buy out and was wondering if a G-26 converted to ignition system would fly this plane. I don't 3D and would not even need unlimited vertical. just a good flying plane for general flying. I don't have any glow engines and don't want to buy one just for this plane. I have two engine I could use, one is the G-26 and the other is a Brison 2.4. which would work best?

I honestly don't think a gasser is a good choice for a DP Ultimate... However, of the two engines you listed I would use the Brison 2.4. It's lighter and more powerful than the G-26 on ignition. It's also cheaper if you haven't already purchased the G-26. I recently compared these two engines for my H9 Super Cub and ended up ordering the Brison for the reasons mentions... You'll also likely need to put two elevator servos in the rear of the fuselage to balance out the heavier than glow gasser... You'll also likely want to add some flying wires to brace the tail if they are not already part of the ARF...

Waco, I have the DP Ultimate with the stock G-26. Very few flights, but here is my .02 cents.
Had to add approximately 24 oz. of lead in the tail to balance. Moving the servos' aft will help but you'll still need to add lead. This combo will fly with very smooth, IMAC type aerobatics with no problems, take-offs require minimal rudder input. Keep the power on in approach, wing loading is very high with combo, power off and it sinks like a stone. As soon as I can "find" my workbench, off comes the G-26, on goes the ST 2300.

Dave will shot you for putting a gas on his bi-plane. I had a ys120 keep it as light as you can.If you don't glow sell the plane and buy a bigger plane made for gas. Dennis

Edge, Waco also asked about the G-26. I am just commenting on my personal experience on that plane and that engine. I have no experience with the brison 2.4. Undoubtably, the brison (and your fox) is much lighter than the zenoah. If I had one of these two engines on the shelf I would contemplate using one, but I don't. However, my ST 2300 will fit the bill nicely.
This plane needs to be assembled as light as possible. If you can do it with a gasser, fine. But your NOT going to do it with a G-26.
