I use the GP filler valve in a GP Shoestring and I have a friend that uses the Dubro in 2 J3-cubs (one is .40 size the other is 1/4 scale) Both mine and his work flawlessly.

These are fuel dots. The sleeve on the airaft is retained by a nut from the inside of the aircraft.

Yeah these are the ticket. You don't have any goofy custom fueler if you get these. Just unplug the dots (don't lose them) and start fueling. Madsion products makes some called the Miracle fueler. In medium or large tube sizes. They also come with a T. I'd like to drill mine and fit them with tiny wires so they can dangle on the fuse while I'm fueling. I can see losing mine if I drop it in the grass or something. Regardless they are the ticket.

Thats the only draw back. If your at the field without extras, its a big drawback. Quick fuelers are slick. And the "goofy custom fuel tip" fits into any tube as well. Joe

I have had nothing but bad luck with several brands of quick fuelers. On the other hand, I use DuBro and H9 fuel dots and they work great. Since I only take them off when fueling, losing them isn't an issue.

NEITHER

Fuel dots are worry free and trouble free. It is impossible for them to fail.

Hey Richard, I got the idea of how to do my Funtana Cowling from you. Thanks man, what a nice system. Your're right there ain't NO way those dots are coming off. They take effort to remove and that's a good thing.

I agree. I have had both brands draw air into the fuel line and it was very difficult to find the cause of my problems. I now either use fuel dots or run the carb line out the fuse to a filter then back in and just disconnect the filter when I have to fill.[/color]

How do you keep the fuel out of the enigne when filling? Don't you need to use a clamp to clamp of the line to the carb? How does one get around this problem?

You don't need to clamp the line to the carb if:

1) You use a third line to the tank for filling and draining.
2) You disconnect the line to the carb when filling, like FlyHard already mentioned above.
3) You have a YS engine.
