I am finishing this plane and mounted the top wing on it for the first time. First of all the cabanes were off by 1/2 inch (the left one was 1/2 behind the right one. After I redrilled the holes and remounted it, put the wings on, and tried to mount the struts, the top wing is about an inch too high. I am going to have to completely remount the cabanes so that the struts fit.

My question - did anyone else have this problem or is it unique to my bird. And if you did, did remounting the canbanes fix it??

Do a search here at RCU on GP Eagle. There are a few huge threads on this plane. Also check out the GP website. there a couple of addendums to the instructions that address this issue.

I just mounted my wings this week. Left the cabanes for last. Did the struts first and then attached the cabanes to the wing and then attached it to the fuse last..

I had the same problem, I figured out what they did that is causing the problem. Look at the fuselage where the cabanes screw into, you'll see the hardwood blocks that they mount to. The holes are probibly drilled too high. After I redrilled the holes in the blocks center, everything lined up perfect. I guess that the holes were drilled off-center buy accident and not noticed by them. I sat there and thought all the same things too, I only noticed it when I was disassembling it to see if I had done something wrong. I caught it and made the day. All my incedences are perfect.lower wing: 0 , upper wing: -1 , h stab: 0
Hope this helps you guys

Im glad that worked for yours... Mine were also 1/2" off but they were centered on the blocks..
I mounted the cabanes to the wing and mounted the wings to the struts. then drilled the cabane holes..Mine were 1/2" back from where they were supposed to be.. I also had trouble with the lower wing saddle. The wing would not sit in it properly so I had to grind the dowel holes so it would lay flat in the saddle... Im glad it looks nice finished because I did not have a great time assembling it...[:@]

Yeah I had a little trouble putting it together but it was all worth it when I flew it for the first time, man, this plane is one of the great ones, I've never had a giant bird fly like a .40 size ship. It feels easy in the air and that makes my nerves much happier when doing low inverted fly-bys.

ha ha......here's a funny one...ha ha.......Mine were off a litle bit ( not a half an inch) and i didn't even notice. Oops! Kind of embarassing. I bring it up just to mention it flew great anyway! I had just a touch of mixing to do, elevator to rudder and now it tracks perfectly through anything. I probably should fix it, but you cant tell by looking and the long, slooowww rolls are awesome, as is everything else. It tracks very much like some of the pattern ships I've had.
