I'm a member of a boy scout troop and am hoping to get my buddies to start airplanes with me training them. I'm just wondering what would be something good to start them with. They want something that looks good. I suggested a Kadet or a Rapture 40.

The Kadet is a better plane for training purposes. There's also LOTS of trainer ARFS that would work as well and be less $$$ than the Kadet. Nothing against Sig, I love them, I just wouldn't want to spend so much on a trainer that lots of guys would be flying. One good choice would be the new World Models Sky Raider Mach 1...brand new for 70 bucks! Also, if you're part of a Boy Scout troop you might ask a local club to donate their time, field and maybe even a complete trainer setup...Wouldn't hurt to ask, the guys in my club and several other clubs in our area enjoy helping out the Boy Scouts when we can.

my local club is already ready andwilling to donate time to help my group. i've been thinking more about it and i probably could find a cheaper arf trainer.
