Default GP Piper Cub done!

I finally got it done. I took it out today and taxied it first and then took of. It flies great. I only had one ground loop problem on landings but it was my fault. Other than that, no problems taking off or landing. Flight was about at 1/4 throttle if that much. I am using a Saito 72. I love it, now I have a new favorite. I estimate it will fly for 30 min on a tank of fuel. 16oz tank. I usually fly it for 15min. I had about a 2-10mph wind today also.

i recon u meant scale speeds. I am not sure. I havent ever been in a real plane. I have been told that the 72 would make it fly too fast for scale. I did full throttle it a few times, I like it just putting around myself. I re-enforced the struts with pop bottle plastic too. Where they attatch. Do you have one?

Do you all think that if i added a smoke system to this plane it would make it too heavy?

Sounds like you had a great time hope to get my cub back in the air soon but this thing called work keeps getting in the way and also the field that I fly at is hosting a war bird fly in this weekend so it may be next week before I get to fly agin

Great looking plane Crashland! Those things just float. Is it fairly aerobatic? I know a high wing isn't the best for that...just curious what you can do is all.

I dont have my nerve up yet to try it as of now. I have only flown it a few times and I just needed to get the feel of it. When the wind finnaly gets to die down here I will get it back into the air. And Lord willin try some.

Well I done a loop and a roll today. It looped great but the roll was very sloooow. But I dont expect to do that much with this plane anyway. I just like to set back and putt around. When I get the itch to really tear up the sky and do stuff I get out my GP .40 size super sportster or the Shoestring.

No i sure didnt. I had just enough wind today so it helped on landings. Sometimes it wouldnt hurt to do that i recon. So far I havent needed them. I just come in a little farther down and play with the throttle until I get it where I need it.

I'm in the process of putting flaperons on a float plane I have. At low throttle, it falls from the sky like a rock.

A guy in our club flies an electric J3...his floats across the runway...can't seem to get it to land.

probably since you have floats you should have flaps then. that is understandable. the electric one floats like mine does on landings

I was foolin' with mine and did a nice climbing knife edge but man when it stalls, mine went right into a nice spin...just fishing up repairs. i might have to try the flapperon thing, i was thinking about it.

Didn't think so, that's why I thought flaperons.

I figure you could put flaps on it if you wanted to spend the time. Like the GP cessna 40. They dont come with any but you could make some.
