Default Phoenix FunStar???

I just got this model and in the middle of getting her together,it is just a dream to build..should be done in about 4 hours!
Im putting an LA 46 in and Futaba radio gear.
This seems like one of the real good deals in an arf these days.
I will report back in from a test flight.
I wish all arfs would come "almost ready to fly" as this one did.

I think you will find that you need a much heavier engine, else you will need to add a load of dead weight to the nose. I have the Irvine Wild Card which is the same model, and had a 46la on it, and it was MILES out on the CG. I ended up putting an OS 46AX on mine to save adding extra weight.

I got one and did not fly it but ended up building it for my friend. The plane is nice and the only quarrel I have it the stupid throttle linkage, the linkage is not easy to line up, other than that the plane is great. It was outfitted with a TT46 and there is sufficient power. The balance was spot on. The plane flies better than the Magic Extra (normal flying and not 3D, not sure about the comparison in 3D). Only things is that the bleeds speed fast ... does not have a high rate of descend but slows down fast enough.

Well, I actually have this model and it flies great. I haven't had any problems with it so far. I love flying it into the wind because it just stops in flight and just hovers like the eagles. It might be hard to do knife edges though, but it can do everything else. It lands perfectly with the least amount of thrust . Sometimes if the wind is strong enough I'll just hover it down to land. Basically it is an easy bird to fly!

Just figured id add my 2 cents into everything...and write a little something...... i have about 10 flights on this model.....and it is so so so awesome, precise as hell, and a very very good sport 3D model for the money!!. it will, hover,Parachute, harrier roll, torque roll, ETC the only thing its a little rusty at is the KE, but if you give it what it needs while doing it, it will do it. I'm just very impressed with the model. i have an O.S. 46FX in it, and can just barley i mean barley climb out of a hover, so I'm kinda scared to come down low a couple feet off the ground, but i have been hovering a little higher, it glides in like a glider on landing, i even let go of the sticks a couple times when i was about 4 to 8 feet off the ground to show some Friends that it will land itself!!!!. its just a really cool plane...my next plane I'm planning to get, which i hope will be cool is the magic 3D. anyway if anybody has any questions on what it can do, just ask me cause i got some good hours on it...its a blast!!!!!!!!!!!

I took that junk LA 46 out and put a NEW Magnum XLS .46 and WOW what a difference!
Makes this plane even more fun to fly....
LA could not hold a throttle setting and deadsticked on me all the time..the Magnum is a fine running engine, gave this plane some class.
