Default Funtana 90

Hi everyone! I thought I should start a thread devoted just for the new Hangar 9 Funtana 90 coming out soon I think I will use the new Hitec 635HB's on Elevators, Alierons, and a 645MG on Rudder; I am going to run a Saito 180 in mine. Everybody reply and let's see if we can get this thread to be one of the biggest ever in airplanes!!!!!!!!! Thanks, O.S. MAster

O.S. Master,
I understand they're due out mid-May. Any other updates on that date?

Ok... Being that no one has seen or had a chance to try this beauty out, I think my first impression is to go with the Saito 1.20. They say they'd be available mid-May, and knowing the first run of a product is usually late, then I'll be saving my money for a motor. I'm even thinking a DA 50. That should at least hover the thing. What do you think? We should start a pool here. Pick a date and let's all see who comes closest to it for the delivery of the first Funtana 90. The winner gets the chance to open the box, take pictures and post them here! What a prize, huh? Well, I think Hangar 9/Horizon Hobby should give that lucky shmuck a gift certificate for at least a bottle of CA. Meaning a bottle of ChampAgne... That way, when he goes to christen the bird, if it doesn't stand up to the blow, he can always drink the ChampAgne.

I'll wait and see, but if these can come in at the spec'd weight of 8.1 lbs it would be perfect with a saito 120. Size wise, it's better than most of the other 120-180 birds out now. If it truly can be airborn at an AUW of under 8.5lbs, it likely won't stay together when we go putting Saito 180s and OS 160's on it. The OS would be my choice. Even if it went up to 9.5lbs, it would be awesome with the 160.

The 180 might not be bad. You might need to do a lot of fire wall bracing. You will have to be slinging a lot of prop with that motor. Many are using the 100 on the 40 size.

Hi,

On 5-12-04 I ordered the Funtana 90 from Horizon. THe Sales Rep related, they just had a meeting about the release date and Horizon didn't know if the release date would be June or July. Looks like I'll be waiting a while before I get the .90

Regards,

Chuck

They probably read on RCU how many people want to put a 1.80 on it, and had to go back and strengthen them!

Well
I saw Funtana 90 up close and personal at Toledo I would say a 180 is to much I have one on order
And have a Satio 150 witch I think is pushing it a little I have the 40 size with a Satio 90 and
It works vary well. I think we are all going to have a blast with the 90 size. Just remember throttle management
