I just received my DP Ultimate biplane and it is really nice. I am concerned about the pull-pull elevator setup and whether it is going to hold up after heavy aerobatics. I was wondering if anyone has set it up as the manual suggests and did they experience any fraying of the cables to the elevators.

I used the stock setup on both of mine with the exception that I substituted a Dubro 4-40 pull-pull cable and hardware. There was a problem with weak cables on some of the early one's but that may have been resolved by now.

You're gonna love this plane!

A friend has one and it has held up just fine. Now the stripes on the wing and his flying wires are another story.

I agree with Robotech, as long as you replace it with a 4-40 pull pull system you will be fine. I never had a problem with mine and I love to do high G aerobatics.

I used everything from the kit. I use a saito 150 and love it. No problems yet. I did buy cable from the fishing store cause I ran out of wire for the flying wires. Ok, I didn't use everything. I used Dubro 440 clevis' with the built in clip for all servo & control surfaces, I thinks thats all the mods I made.

Did all of you use CA to glue the horizontal stab in the fuselage?
If so, what type? Thin, Medium, Thick?
Did you use the tail wheel supplied?
Did you use the landing gear supplied?
How about the motor mount? I plan on using my YS 120FZ, or the 140L.

I used epoxy on the Horizontal stab. I just always do. Used the stock main gear but not the tail gear.

I used thin CA on the horizontal stab, as per the instructions. Remember this only tacks it, when the Vertical stab is installed, lots of epoxy is gobbed in. I used the stock wires, no problems. 120FZ engine, fine for me, others are unsatisfied. I can just hover, but no excess as the plane builds heavier than DP says. 12 pounds is not uncommon. I used a Sullivan tailwheel, easy to replace if there's a problem. Used the stock gear, but then I fly off of asphalt. It does give quite a bit.

I have about 100 flights with mine. 140 DZ The plane is awesome and gentle. You will love it. I really ring her out I used all stock hardware and everything is holding up fine. Just check all your cables tension and adjust after each day of flying. Good Luck and Happy Flying

i used ca on the tail group and it held great
i used the pull pull on the E & R it has held great
I used the nylon hardware and it has held great

I have broken between 3-5X the cable on the stab i would replace that with something stronger.

i ran my tank on the Cg as its very forgiven and needs the more aft portion of the Cg to fly well inverted.

How about mufflers?
What have you people used?

i USED A SLIMLINE pITTS, i WOULD USE A STOCK MUFFLER NEXT TIME HAD TO CUT COWL COMPLETLY OUT THEN HAD TO BRACE IT TO FIT
