I have been looking for a stearman and this one apears to be alomost ready to go. From what it reads it has an engine. But no electronics. Would it be a good idea to buy one off of ebay? Has anyone purchased any planes from ebay? What about shipping? Any help would be appreciated. I need to know soon, it only has a few days left.

You link is not working.
Use your best judgement. I've bought from Ebay many times, and so far have only got ripped off once. (a completed plane btw)
Check their ratings, and if your comfortable with it, go for it. Just be careful when it comes "shipping charges"....as a lot of them make additional money on this part of the deal.
Good luck!

Great Planes is releasing a SuperStearman that looks really great
Although it's quiet large (proven for 0.91 to1.20 engines) and expensive too 350$; I think you may be glad of your purchase if you can afford it.
Than get a second hand reliaable engine and receiver
Currently owning a Greatlakes (.60 FS), I think this is my next biplane, when I have the money

I mnaged to see the ebay deal.
Looks like a clean airplane, although a .52 is not overpowering for this type of airplane (lots of drag...)
If you can get it for 300, why not? Although it seems a little expensive as new retail value is 380$. Half of this price or less is a good deal. For 200$, you'd be making a good deal.
Personaly, I have never bought anything on ebay because I don't have any guarantee. But I may have missed great deals too.
Most of my heli stuff comes from online dealers though.

Yeah I will give it a watch, if it goes within my price range I will get it. It says that the shipping is half payed if buy it now is used. That might work. I guess. I will just watch and see what it does.

That STEARMAN belongs to a RCU member. Do a search for great planes super stearman thread and he mentions this plane in that thread.
I will only deal with people that have 25 or greater positive feedback. If he/she has negative feedback, I try to find out why and use my judgement. I bought 5 planes of ebay and only one was not as described.
