Hey, Do you guys recommend using a smaller faster servo for throttle on a UCD 3D 46 with a SAITO 80, or an O.S. 70??
The servo would be a Hitec HS-81... no bearings: (same as used in the review of the Funtana 40 here on RCU)
Operating Speed (4.8V): 0.11sec/60 degrees at no load
Stall Torque (4.8V): 36.10 oz/in. (2.6kg.cm)

the difference between that and a standard servo makes absolutely zero difference for throttle, the engine isn't going to respond any differently to a servo that is .06 seconds slower...
maybe get a standard with bearings instead, gaining the smoothness with the bb's.

A couple of local guys showed me how they "check " their engines
snap the throttle stick back and forth and expect the engine to follow.
they actually thought that was how you determine if it is set correctly!
The same comments about needing a fast throttle servo.
Good , even geometry on the linkage - low drag /ZERO slop linkage , is many more times as important.
My own setups use a low cost digital servo for throttle .
these position much more accurately.
JR has a new one for little money -
