Default GP Christen Eagle Engine Choice

Which engine to power the GP CE? I've narrowed my choice to two engines. Am I heading in the correct direction? Initial purchase price of the engine is not really a factor for me at this time.

DA-50-R = Cheaper fuel (not really a factor) and I suspect great performance?
OS FT300 = Expensive fuel, scale sound but how would the performance be?

Thanks, Randy

I have a DA 50 on mine and absolutely love it. I also balanced out nice with no lead needed anywhere. Final weight was 17.5 lbs. If you do a search, you will find plenty of information on this plane and it's power choices and modifications.

I totally agree with the DA50 and with a 22X10 prop, provides great engine breaking on the down lines. A great choice and will last for years. Keep in mind that the gas engine will be less of an oil mess on your airframe as well.

Did you guys have to cut the cowl on this plane to make room for the cylinder head, plug and ecu plug cap? I have this plane and the DA-50R and I thought it fit all inside. If you can please post photos of the engine compartment and cowl would be greatly appricated.

Thanks,

Shawn
