Hello,
I have just dry fit the stab and fin on my CAP and have found a couple of problems. And was wondering if anyone else had seen these and for those that had how did you resolve them.
The first problem... The slot that the stab goes in is about 1/4-3/8" too long. I am thinking that I should epoxy the stab all the way back in the slot and fill the gap in the front with balsa, then cover the repair. Does that sound right, or should I reverse it and push the stab forward? Is there a reason to choose one over the other?
The second problem... The fin tail post is too short. It seems to be a simple matter of adding some balsa at the bottom to fill the gap. Is there anything else that I should consider? Any strengthening mods that I should consider?
TIA for your help.
