Default Engine placement on GP Big Stik 60

The instructions on my new Great Planes Big Stik 60 say to mount the engine with thrust washer 6" from the firewall. At that position my TT .61 Pro is almost at the end of the mount and there's a gap between the firewall and the rear of the engine I can almost put my hand through! What's up with that? Would it hurt to move the engine back on the mount? Thanks.

Most of the time they tell where to put the thrust washer to make the cowl fit properly. On an uncowled plane it would only be for balance. You might try putting all the equipment in the plane and then sliding the motor back and forth to see if it will balance. If it will balance properly, the motor can be anywhere on the mount beams.
