YS-91+Great Planes PT-19=Great Flying!!
Greetings:
After much time with YS-120s and 140s, I thought to marry the very nice Great Planes PT-19 ARF to a YS-91 four stroke. The kit is extremly well built and very complete, with a unique wing holding 'plate' to expedite field assembly. The YS mouinted nicely, inverted. And the fun began with getting the YS-91 to run consistantly!!
Cutting thru a LOT of trial and error, here how I dialed in what is now a sweet combo!
Use the OS four stroke plug!!
Use Powermaster YS 20-20 fuel
Begin with an APC 14x6 prop-very critical to not overload this engine
Since the Great Planes cowl is very scale, you must open the entrance considerably inorder to adequately cool the engine. This is very critical to obtain a good and consistant idle, transition, and high end.
End result-a beautiful flying model!
Best Wishes,
Jim
